I’m always intrigued with what Brian Clark over at Copyblogger is up to. Last year I joined his Teaching Sells program and watched with amazement as it took off to become a vibrant online learning community. I cite it often as a case study. Now I’ve become interested in one of Brian’s more recent projects: the Thesis theme for WordPress.

I’ve decided to give Thesis a try here at Hedgehog & Fox, as I have been thinking for some time that I want to revamp the site. I focus a good bit on search engine optimization with my clients, so I like that Thesis is designed to be as search engine friendly as possible right out of the box. I also like that its designer, Chris Pearson, seems to have gone to great lengths to separate presentation of Thesis sites from the underlying WordPress engine – even more so than most other themes.

Now, in the past, I have usually done all of my behind-the-scenes structuring and branding work before launching a new version of a site. In this case, though, I decided that Thesis looked quite good out of the box and that it might be interesting for regular visitors to see how things evolve over the next few weeks.
